To Our Players, Families, Volunteers, and Community,

Like many across the hockey world, we at TASA were deeply troubled to learn of the recent events involving a team from another organization related to allegations of hazing and sexual assault. Although this incident does not involve our association, it is a powerful and painful reminder that abusive behavior has no place in sport—and that we must remain steadfast in our responsibility to protect every athlete in our care.

We want to take this moment to reaffirm TASA’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive hockey environment for all.

Hazing of any kind is strictly prohibited within TASA. So too are intimidation, bullying, discrimination, or any form of harassment or misconduct. These actions violate not only our policies, but the values that define our community.

TASA continues to uphold and strengthen our safe sport framework through:

• Respect, equity, and inclusion as core expectations for all players, coaches, and volunteers.
• Zero?tolerance policies for hazing, harassment, and abuse—without exception.
• Mandatory Safe Sport and conduct training for coaches, team staff, and volunteers.
• Clear and confidential reporting channels for athletes and families.
• Prompt, transparent, and accountable action should any concern arise.

Hockey should provide our youth with a place to grow, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging. No athlete should ever feel fear, shame, or pressure to participate in harmful behavior. Together, as a community, we must model the dignity, leadership, and respect we expect our players to uphold.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the recent events. TASA remains fully committed to ensuring that every player who steps onto the ice does so in an environment that is positive, safe, and inclusive.
