50 / 50 Program Info

2010-2011 TASA Minor Hockey Association 50/50 Program

TASA will continue the 50/50 program this year.  This will offer all players the opportunity to reduce the costs associated with registration fees.

Our goal: To maintain 2 draws with a minimum of $18,000 in sales. This will be achieved if all registered players sell a minimum of 20 tickets for each draw. This small contribution per player will ensure that this fundraiser is successful and that all members of the association benefit from its success.

Player Commitment: This program is mandatory for all registered players. Each player is required to sell a minimum of 20 tickets per draw for two draws. Our goal is to have a minimum prize value of $9000 per draw. This can only be maintained if each player sells 20 tickets per draw. If a player chooses not to participate, that player will have an outstanding balance of $40 ($20 for each draw) on their account, which the player is responsible to pay prior to their registration being processed the following year. We encourage all players to sell more than the required 20 tickets per draw and additional tickets will be available for all players to sell. The more we sell, the more successful the program will be and it will become easier to sell tickets in the years to come. We encourage all players to try and sell their tickets in retail outlets throughout the TASA district.

The proceeds from the 50/50 sales are divided as follows:

To the winner of the draw                      50%

To the players who sell the tickets          20% of what the player sells to go against next year's

                                                            registration fees

To TASA Minor Hockey                       30% administration costs and player development

Example:   If a player sells 200 tickets for each draw:  Player receives an $80 credit toward next year’s registration fees.

Note: Kirk Tomlinson of Tomlinson Elite Hockey will provide a gift certificate for one of his camps, to the player who sells the most tickets for the draws.

Once the teams are formed, a representative from each team will be assigned by the team, to manage the distribution and collection of tickets and money for both draws. Money and sold tickets are to be passed in to your team representative at least 7 days prior to each draw. It is the team representative’s responsibility to collect from each player and pass it on to the 50/50 coordinator.

Draw Dates: There will be two draws throughout the 2010-2011 season:

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Sunday, February 6, 2011

The credits for players not returning next season will be put towards TASA's Development Fund.
