Correction: Replica Stanley Cup to be Presented at Bay Ducks Game
2010-02-01
Replica Stanley Cup to be presented to TASA Minor Hockey. As well Haitian Relief donations will be accepted...This coming Saturday, Feb 6, 2010 the Bay Ducks are hosting the Sackville Blazers. This special evening will be marked with many events including the presentation of a Miniature Stanley Cup to TASA Minor Hockey. Unfortunately, although previously announced, Mr. & Mrs. Crosby will not be in attendance.
Back on August 7, 2009 Sidney Crosby celebrated his 22nd birthday with over 40 thousand local fans in a Stanley Cup Parade and each Minor Hockey Association in Metro had been asked to send 10 Novice players to take part in a 3 on 3 ball hockey tournament at Cole Harbour Place. Through a random draw TASA sent a group of players who experienced an event whose memories will last a life time. Each played in a 3 on 3 ball hockey tournament with the other associations and Sidney. All participating children received a limited edition Jersey, pictures with Sidney and TASA received a miniature Stanley Cup to mark the event.
Now that all of the kids have had their time with the cup (like champions do), they will be returning to the ice with this trophy during the pre-game ceremonies at the Bay Ducks game on Saturday February 6th. The cup will be presented to TASA Minor Hockey for a keep sake in our trophy case.
All TASA players that are 11 yrs of age or younger will be admitted to the 7:00 pm game if they wear their team jerseys. The cup will also be on display in the upper concourse for anyone wanting to have a picture with the cup before we put it in the trophy case. Presentations will occur at 7:00 pm.
TASA and the Bay Ducks will also be accepting donations that will go to help in the relief efforts for Haiti. Monies can be placed in the Allan Floyd Cup which will be on display in the lobby prior to the Bay Ducks game. 100% of donations will go to the Red Cross.
Please come out and enjoy this very special evening with the Bay Ducks and TASA Timbits.
